Resol was an Outer Colony, first established by the United Earth Government as a mining colony in 2436, after the discovery of its plentiful deposits of precious metals and rare earth elements. It retained a thriving mining industry up until its glassing in the final years of the Human-Covenant war, but also developed an agricultural industry focused on tropical produce that thrived in its warm climate. The initial investors and colonists originated from Latin America and its demographics have continued to largely reflect this over the years, with either Spanish or Portuguese spoken as second languages by most of the population.

Cities on Resol were known for spreading upwards, rather than outwards, to maximize the land available for mining and production. Lower levels were built deep into the planet's where the earliest mines on the planet left scars in the surface, while above ground the levels stretch high into the lower atmosphere. Any given tower-block may stretch from limit to limit, though most stop and start on platforms that range from glorified balconies to full streets and roads between buildings. It was entirely possible, if you had the stomach for it, to climb between levels by way of free-climbing and parkour, but most chose to use the various lifts, vehicles and staircases that have been safety-certified.

There was an associated class divide between levels, with those in the subterranean zones being, on average, much poorer than those who could afford to live up within the cloud-belt. This divide only grew starker during the war years, with the economic disparity stretching further and further up the vertical cities the tougher times became. On the lowermost levels it became common to see illegal markets stretching through the streets like veins as trade became tougher and the local authorities stopped bothering to crack down on it, enabling those with the fewest options to band together and survive. Crime, poverty and violence were commonplace, but the community grew around them and those who took advantage of the wrong people would often find people closing ranks to protect the victims. One resident of San Tierra used large, public news screens to display the name of repeated scammers more than once.

As with many Outer Colonies, especially during the war years, there was a thriving Insurrectionist underbelly on Resol. The local cell were both revered and derided by other colonists, and they remained active until the colony's eventual glassing in some form or another. However they saw a a major upheaval in the early 2540s when multiple highly-regarded members disappeared, with rumour having it that they signed up with the UNSC after all and had their records wiped—a choice seen as a massive betrayal by those who stood firmly with their fellow rebels. When Resol was glassed, known Insurrectionists were not permitted to leave the planet.

In 2546, the primary supplier for the colony's local army garrison, Lockson Industries was exposed for supplying shoddily made equipment to the colony. This was uncovered by Specialist Constance Diaz, whose arrest rocketed her name into the public sphere until her transfer later that year. No information about where she was sent was ever released.

The colony was finally discovered by the Covenant and glassed sometime between 2547-2548. Only an estimated 50,000 residents were confirmed to have survived.

VISUAL: 5'4" with pale brown skin, dark brown hair that's shaved on one side and jaw-length on the other, and big brown eyes. Her face is soft and rounded and looks younger than she is. She's compact and her muscle hidden under a layer of softer fat. There are various scars on her person, the most notable being those on her chest and abdomen, as well as one on her palm. She dresses comfortably, when awarded the opportunity to wear her own clothes which she hasn't had in a long time. T-shirts, leggings, simple dresses, leather jackets.
AURAL: Mostly calm, collected voice. She makes remarkably little noise when just walking around.
DEMEANOUR: CT comes across as reserved and subdued, to most strangers. Her experiences have dulled the warmer, more mischievous side of her and left her as the kind of person who keeps most of her feelings deeply internalised, and she distrusts people on principle for a time after meeting them. She's polite and even friendly, but it's shallow until you really get to know her, at which point she starts acting more like Connie than CT which includes more openness.
