About
CT didn't set out to be anything special. She was just like everyone else in Project Freelancer who joined because they offered her a second chance after a charge that should've landed her in prison. But she's always been a little too nosy for her own good and has principles enough that she couldn't let what the Project was doing go, actions that led to her death and eventually the program crashing and burning.

Her time playing double agent has turned her paranoid, bitter and distrustful. Connie became CT and though all the softer things that she was as Connie are still there, they're buried deep beneath a mask built for self-defence that will take time and careful work to take back down.
Personality
CT has always been filled with an abundance of insatiable curiosity. Observant, clever and meddling, she's the type who seeks out information for the fun or challenge of it, won't rest until she gets to the bottom of mysteries/puzzles she's presented with and often pokes her nose in where it doesn't strictly belong. It's a trait that's been a curse to her just as often as it's been a blessing, with following the path her curiosity leads her down just as likely to get her into trouble as it is to satisfy her, and there's no clearer example of this than the work she did to bring down Project Freelancer.

Something about the Project had always seemed off, to Connie. She picked up on things that a lot of the other agents didn't, either out of wilful or genuine ignorance; the way the leaderboard pitted them against each other, the way the Director was manipulating everyone into believing they owed him, the lies (both outright and of omission) told by Command... once she actually begun investigating, Connie was unable to keep her nose out of it or keep her mouth shut. She made numerous attempts to make one of her friends, Washington, realise what was going on right under their noses and asked the questions no one else would ask to attempt to provoke thought in the others, too. This lead to her having problems with the authority and other agents at the Project alike, who didn't take kindly to her crypticism and questions.

Eventually, she gave up her attempts to make the others listen and focused instead on what she could do. Connie is a deeply principled person and if she believes there's a wrong to be righted, she's unlikely to stop until she finds a way to do so. It's this trait that meant she couldn't ignore the Project's crimes, even when pursuing them came at a risk to herself, and pushed her to enter a dangerous arrangement as a double agent. This forced her even deeper into secrecy and drove a bigger wedge between her and her teammates.

Her experiences from that point on twisted Connie into CT, a much more closed-off and distrustful version of herself. Spending her time telling lies and keeping secrets, whilst constantly aware that one wrong move could mean her discovery and possibly death, left CT somewhat paranoid and constantly on-edge. She had to be, to keep herself safe, and once learned it's the kind of behaviour not easily unlearned. Earning her trust is thus extremely difficult, as she's conditioned herself not to trust anyone, and she can come across bitter and sharp if you get off on the wrong foot with her.

However, beneath the hardened surface, there's still parts of the person she was before. She's a mischievous, warm and deeply compassionate/empathetic person who became who she did because she couldn't sit back and let the people she cared about, or humanity as a whole, be harmed by someone who didn't care about either. Despite her attempts to get the others to listen failing and how much this frustrated her, she never completely gave up on the other agents in the program. At the end, before her defection, she reached out to Agent Texas, a member of the squad who was uniquely affected by the Director's crimes, to give her a chance to learn the truth about herself and believing that upon learning said truth, Texas would do what needed to be done. She was right, though she wouldn't live long enough to know for certain herself.

At CT's core is a curious and compassionate person who puts others above herself in almost every scenario, because she wants nothing more than to do the right thing. It just might take some time for her to learn to trust enough again to let it show.
Appearance
A 5'4" person with light brown skin, dark brown eyes and dark brunette hair, typically styled with one side shaved and the other left longer. She looks a touch younger than her 29 years, thanks to a rounded sort of baby face and softer features that strip some of the years away despite the tiredness in her eyes. There's an old scar across her one palm and two much more severe scars on her torso, down her chest and across her abdomen, as well as various other inconsequential scars.

Her build is compact, almost stocky. Muscle is hidden beneath a layer of softer, chubbier fat—she's fit, but not cut. She favours practical clothing but indulges in prettier things occasionally, when she's feeling in the right mood. Most of her clothing ends up being brown, white, or black.
Powers
Rogue Level 9: For the purposes of rolls and the like, CT is being treated as having equivalent skills of a Level 9 Rogue (Thief) from 5e.

Cuff of Seeing Double: A magic item that allows CT to replicate the effects of her holographic duplicates unit from her armour. It creates illusory copies of herself that move in a way she visualises, which unfold from her body in motion. They last only a few seconds at most, slightly longer if used as a still image, and dissipate when struck.

Silvertongue Amulet: The wearer of this silver pendant would find themselves permanently more persuasive whenever wearing it, and would find it easier to get people to do things for them or give them information. It works even on the most powerful supernatural creatures, though the success may vary on demons, elder gods, or goddesses somewhat.

Unholy Talisman: A protective ward in an array of designs that will allow the wearer to resist the influence or workings of Nyarlathotep. Would only help with non-physical/mental effects, physical damage would not be preventable.

Truth Charm: A charm that allows CT to cast an equivalent of Zone of Truth. 5 charges. Those affected will answer questions truthfully so long as the questions are kept within reason; if she tries to push on a question they're uncomfortable answering, they'll notice and may retaliate.
History
CT grew up on an Outer Colony by the name of Resol, a colony primarily populated by humans that had come from Latin America. CT, then Connie Diaz, lived with her mothers and older brother, Keaton. Her home city was multi-levelled, stretching upwards more than it did outwards, with the markets and the poorest people at the bottom and the richest at the top. Like many Outer Colonies, it was left relatively abandoned by the UNSC during the Human-Covenant war and what authority they still retained was mostly aimed at combating the local Insurrectionist cell. Connie and her brother disagreed frequently about the Insurrection and what to do about the rampant corruption, with Connie favouring actions like exposing scammers and corrupt members of authority while her brother leaned more towards Insurrectionist sentiment.

Keaton left home when she was sixteen years old and never came back. Only much later would she find out that he ran off to join the local Insurrectionists, who Connie spent a few years fighting as part of the colonial army so they'd pay her way through college. She was twenty-four when she noticed that the equipment her squad was being provided was shoddy and dug into Lockson Industries records, where she discovered and then exposed that the poor quality was purposeful. This led to her arrest on several charges, which then led to her attracting the attention of brand new ONI special ops program, Project Freelancer. With the promise that her charges would be dropped and that the program would do great things for the war effort, she signed on.

Assigned the codename Agent Connecticut, Connie spent the first few years in PFL hovering in the second-most senior squad working infiltration assignments and doing intelligence work. She had questions about the program, even concerns, but for the most part she was willing to ignore these quibbles for the sake of the good PFL was meant to do. It was after she moved up into the top squad and the introduction of the leaderboard that the cracks really began to show; Connie became concerned by the simulation bases, the sudden shift of focus onto a specific supposedly-Insurrectionist cell, and finally the disappearance of the Triplets. Discovering that the three agents had been left to die was what pushed her to dig deeper and start uncovering the program's violations of the Cole Protocol.

Connie became CT not long after she first uncovered the truth about the program, and only retreated further into what the name represented the more she found out. Massachusetts, another intelligence agent that CT didn't initially get along with, was killed by the Project after she reached out, as the Project began to suspect leaks. CT only narrowly avoided the same fate by covering her tracks well enough to make it seem that they'd killed their mole. So CT stopped seriously trying to draw anyone else at the Project into things, focusing instead on her contacts in the 'Insurrection' who turned out to be legitimate UNSC contractors working for another program.

Over time, CT uncovered every dirty secret the program had. The torture and fragmentation of the AI, the truth of who Agent Texas was, their violation of multiple intergalactic laws means to protect humanity, their psychological experiments on personnel... but after a close call and increasing scrutiny, CT had to leave sooner than she'd planned. She left behind a copy of her data for Agent Texas, so that she may eventually know the truth, but was seen as a traitor by her team who still didn't know better. She spent months being moved between different Charon bases by her contacts, until they were ultimately caught up to by the Project. There, in a bunker beneath the base, CT faced down Carolina and a Texas who had yet to find the data. She put up a good fight, but she couldn't win; Texas struck her with one tomahawk in the gut and another in the chest, killing her.
